Tagliafico was born on August 31, 1992 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The left-footed defender joined Ajax from Argentina's Independiente in January 2018. He made his debut in Amsterdam on January 21, 2018 in the match between Ajax - Feyenoord (2-0) and played 169 official matches for Ajax, scoring sixteen goals.
The Argentine international won three league titles at Ajax (2019, 2021 and 2022) and claimed the KNVB cup twice; in 2019 and in 2021. In 2019, he also won the Johan Cruijff Shield.
