The first did not properly head Bassey’s cross, while the 21-year-old central defender saw his assist being saved by Bijlow. Feyenoord managed to score after 30 minutes of playing. Alfred Schreuder’s team had a massive opportunity twenty minutes before full-time. Álvarez dribbled the ball into the midfield, after which the Ghanese player played the ball deep. He did not manage to get the ball passed Bijlow.

Ajax managed to get passed Feyenoord shortly after this. Dusan Tadic gave a clever assist to Bergwijn, who booted the ball toward the Rotterdam goal via an overhead kick. Via Davy Klaassen and Feyenoord player Wieffer, the ball went into the goal: 1-1.
In the match’s final stages, Feyenoord had another chance at scoring. Rulli saved the attempt and kept the score in Rotterdam at 1-1.
