Ajax U18 have been drawn to play MTK Budapest in the UEFA Youth League knockout round play-offs. Such was the outcome of Monday afternoon's draw. The Amsterdam team will face MTK Budapest on 7 or 8 February 2023.
All second-ranked teams from the UEFA Champions League, including Ajax, play in a knockout round against the winners from the Champions Path. MTK are the first Hungarian side to get to this stage.
The winners from these play-offs go through to the round of 16.
With 85 players, Ajax has the most home-grown players circulating in UEFA's 31 highest club competitions. This is according to the data agency CIES Football Observatory. Ajax topped this list for the second year in a row.
