Ajax has signed Damián van der Vaart. The midfielder has agreed to a contract lasting one season, until June 30, 2024. This marks the first contract with Ajax for the seventeen-year-old youth player.

Van der Vaart (Zaanstad, May 28, 2006) transfers from the Danish club Esbjerg fB, where he has been part of the youth academy since 2020. In Amsterdam, he will join the U18 team. Damián is the son of Rafael van der Vaart, who played a total of 156 matches for Ajax 1 between 2000 and 2005, scoring 61 goals during that time.
