Winning in Volendam was a must for Ajax, who have already failed to win four matches across all competitions. The big defeat (1-6) against Napoli was especially painful, so the Ajax players were keen to get back on track in Volendam.

Ajax can now turn their attention to Wednesday, when the fourth UEFA Champions League group game is scheduled. In Italy, Napoli is the opponent once again.
