Ajax lost points in the Eredivisie for this first time this season on Sunday. At Enschede, the Ajax team did take an early lead thanks to Sébastien Haller, but then saw the hosts draw even in the closing stages: 1-1.

Trainer Erik ten Hag was quite clear about it afterwards. "We played it all just too slowly, and set up little to speak of in the first half. The ball was nowhere. We should have played it forward more, but we just didn't."

Ten Hag doesn't even want to think about Ajax's pre-season training, where players returned to the club in stages following international commitments. "No excuses. We should have gone out there and delivered, plain and simple."

The kit is a tribute to the Ajax fans and the love shared by the club and its fans for reggae legend Bob Marley and his iconic song, Three Little Birds. The black kit features red, yellow and green details. On the back of the jersey, just below the collar, it features a subtle reference to the iconic song, with three little birds sitting on Amsterdam’s Andreas crosses. The kit will be worn in this season’s European matches, alongside Ajax’ home kit.
