After the match, Brobbey appeared in front of the camera with a big smile. ''Of course, we won and I scored two goals. I am a very happy person now."
After the Eredivisie’s winter break, Ajax have to make do without Sébastien Haller, who is playing in the African Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast. That provides an opportunity for Brobbey, who already felt that he would be in the starting eleven. "I already saw it during the training sessions, so I prepared well for it. That worked out well."
Brobbey was not the only one to perform well on the day though, as Ajax as a whole were dominant. "Of course, we had lost at home to Utrecht before and now wanted to get back at them," said Brobbey, who was not there at the beginning of October for the first match between the two sides. "If you saw the first thirty minutes: everyone was really sharp."
Brobbey was subbed off after seventy minutes. He acknowledged that his tank was empty. "I didn't play that much at Leipzig, so at a certain point my legs were tired."
It didn't spoil the fun of a successful start to his comeback. "It's a very nice start," Brobbey concluded.
