Contract extension and loan for Victor Jensen

Ajax has reached an agreement with Victor Jensen to extend his contract. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder’s current contract, which ran until June 30, 2023, has been extended by one year until mid-2024. In addition, Ajax has agreed a deal with Rosenborg BK that Jensen will play loan for the Norwegian club until December 31, 2022.

Jensen was born on February 8, 2000 in Copenhagen. The player joined Ajax form Danish side FC Copenhagen, linking up with Ajax's youth academy in 2017. On December 12, 2020, he made his debut for the Ajax first team during a home game against PEC Zwolle (4-0).

In the second half of the 2020/2021 season, Jensen played on loan for FC Nordsjaelland. After his return to Ajax, he joined the first team. As of today, Jensen has played three times for the first team.

The Danish youth international often played for Jong Ajax. He has played sixty games for the reserves so far, scoring fourteen times. In 2018 he was champion of the first division with that team.

Goalkeepers Remko Pasveer and Jay Gorter are both unavailable to Erik ten Hag for the time being. Both goalkeepers were injured during the warm-up before the match against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League. Pasveer, who did play the match in Lisbon (2-2), will be out for at least eight weeks. Gorter will not be available for at least two weeks.
