Ajax started Sunday afternoon's match against SC Cambuur strongly. The Ajax players dominated possession and forced the home team back into the 16-yard area. After a little more than 15 minutes of play, plenty of ball possession led to the opening goal. A clever combination between Davy Klaassen and Tadic broke the Frisians' defensive wall, after which the Ajax captain shot the ball in a controlled manner into the back of the net: 0-1.
Berghuis doubles lead
The second Ajax goal still came about ten minutes before half-time. Mohammed Kudus passed his direct opponent in the back row with a good move, before transferring the ball to Berghuis. The Ajax midfielder then headed it behind Cambuur goalkeeper Ruiter. Thanks to this goal, Heitinga's team went to the dressing room with a 0-2 lead.
Ajax extended their lead in Leeuwarden in minute 64. Kenneth Taylor played Tadic in on the edge of the penalty area. The Ajax captain sent the ball over to Berghuis, who curled it delightfully into the far corner to score his second goal of the afternoon
Substitute Brobbey important
Coach John Heitinga brought Brian Brobbey onto the pitch to replace Tadic about 20 minutes before full-time. The Ajax striker scored two more goals, giving the Amsterdam team a convincing win against SC Cambuur: 0-5.
