Following the cup clash, Fortuna Sittard awaits Sunday

Ajax trained on Saturday morning in preparation for the home match against Fortuna Sittard at the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The normal training facility at the Toekomst is this weekend entirely dedicated to the Future Cup, the international youth tournament for U17 players, so Ajax 1 decamped to the stadium.

There are seven matches left in this Eredivisie season. Four of those are still home games, the first of which kicks off on Sunday against Fortuna Sittard. Ajax must continue to put pressure on Feyenoord even though the team from Rotterdam are pretty much out of sight with an eight-point lead. But the battle for the second spot still has to be won, and PSV and AZ also have it in their sights.

So coach John Heitinga  readied his players again for the Eredivisie after the hard-fought cup victory over Feyenoord. Our photographer was there and captured some nice footage of the training session in the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
