With the exception of a dominant first half hour, the game was far from spectacular, yet a defiant Ajax managed to earn a very welcome three points. The win means the Amsterdam-based side remain leaders at the top of the Eredivisie, with Feyenoord trailing them by six points. Vitesse and PSV are in third and fourth place respectively.

Three points in the bag: that was the most important thing for Daley Blind. "That's the way it is, there's no denying it. The tension started to build after the 70th minute. At that point we were really under pressure. In those moments you have to fight on, and we've shown that we can do that too."
