Coach John van ’t Schip and his Ajax squad secured the second home victory of the week against sc Heerenveen. Ajax beat the Frisians in the Johan Cruijff ArenA with a convincing scoreline: 4-1. Steven Bergwijn and Brian Brobbey found the mark in the first half, while Chuba Akpom came in as a substitute after half time to score two more.
Ajax recorded their second league win in a row. In their own Johan Cruyff ArenA, the Ajax squad defeated sc Heerenveen 4-1. Steven Bergwijn, Brian Brobbey and Chuba Akpom (2) accounted for the Amsterdam goals.
Ajax ended the rearranged fixture at home against FC Volendam with a win. The Ajax squad chalked up a 2-0 victory in their first match under coach John van ’t Schip. Captain Steven Bergwijn broke the spell in the second half, and then Chuba Akpom determined the final score with his first goal in an Ajax shirt.
Ajax will face USV Hercules away in the KNVB Cup. That came out of Saturday evening's draw. The second round match will take place on December 19,20 or 21.
