Ajax and FC Schalke 04 reach an agreement for Huntelaar

Ajax has reached an agreement with Schalke 04 for the transfer of Klaas Jan Huntelaar to the German club. The transfer is effective immediately. The striker's contract ran at Ajax until June 30, 2021.

Huntelaar was born on August 12, 1983 in Voor-Drempt. The striker has played at Ajax since the 2017/2018 season and also played for the club from 2006 to 2008.

Huntelaar made his debut in Amsterdam on January 15, 2006 in the match Ajax vs. N.E.C. (1-1) and played a total of 257 official matches, scoring 158 goals.

Huntelaar was a league champion with Ajax in 2019 and additionally won the KNVB Cup in 2006, 2007, and 2019. He also won the Johan Cruijff Shield in 2007 and 2019.
