Ajax announced that John Heitinga will remain head coach for the rest of the season on Thursday. The former Ajacied led Saturday’s training session at sports complex De Toekomst together with his new assistant coach Dwight Lodeweges.
The team had the perfect conditions to prepare themselves for the away match against Cambuur. The training started with an extensive warm-up.The training concluded with mini-matches.
The Amsterdam-based team achieved a narrow victory last season. After a 0-2 lead thanks to goals from captain Dusan Tadic and Sébastien Haller, the home team fought itself back to a 2-2 tie. Ryan Gravenberch made sure Ajax took the three points home by scoring from a long-distance shot. The match ended 2-3.
