Alfred Schreuder’s team returned from their training camp in Bramberg am Wildkogel on Saturday. Newcomer Conceição trained on Amsterdam soil for the first time and got to know his teammates on the pitch.
The Ajax boys were back on the pitch full of smiles as Conceição was accompanied by Antony and Edson Álvarez. After an extensive warm-up, the team did a sprint drill.
On the other side of the pitch, the goalkeepers were taken care of by goalkeeper coach Anton Scheutjens. An exercise with jumping, diving and shooting worked up a heavy sweat. With a fresh round of water form sprinklers on the pitch, the team continued with positional play and a tactical drill in two groups. The technical Conceição made an eager and fierce impression. Finally, they closed out with some group games.
The winger was satisfied after his first training session. "Yeah, good first practice." The Portuguese was often seen with Antony. "We speak the same language, so that's handy."
On Tuesday evening, Ajax will play a benefit match against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The match starts at 20:00. It is the last game for Schreuder's team in preparation for the new season, which starts on Saturday with the battle for the Johan Cruijff Schield against PSV.
