The new (Ducth) Eredivisie season is just around the corner. Saturday sees the first game of the new season, with a visit to Fortuna Sittard. The squad were in training on Wednesday in the run-up to the clash with the team from Limburg.

Ajax completed their training session on Wednesday in preparation for the first competition match of the 2022/2023 season. This Saturday, Alfred Schreuder's side will travel to Limburg for the showdown with Fortuna Sittard, who finished last season in fifteenth place.

With the sun shining, the weather warm and the grass perfect, conditions at the de Toekomst training ground were excellent for the Ajax team. The competition got off to a start with various pre-season friendlies. Last season, Ajax chalked up a 5-0 victory in Sittard.

Contract extension and loan move for Anass Salah-Eddine

Ajax and Anass Salah-Eddine have reached an agreement for a new contract. The previous contract would expire on June 30, 2023. The new deal of the 20-year-old defender runs until June 30, 2025. The player will play the 2022/2023 season on loan at FC Twente, after Ajax and the Eredivisie club reached an agreement for a loan move.
