Under pleasant conditions, the players' group worked through the last practice session before kicking off the new year in Nijmegen. With some spirited exercises, the players were prepared for the resumption of the league on Sunday from 14:30.
For Youri Baas and Kian Fitz-Jim, 2023 began with wonderful news. The pair were permanently transferred to the A-team by coach Schreuder. Nineteen-year-old Baas made his debut for Ajax first team earlier this season, visiting FC Utrecht. The defender has so far played three times in the Eredivisie and made it onto the pitch three times in the UEFA Champions League: twice against Napoli and in the home game with Rangers FC.
Fitz-Jim has been on the bench for Ajax first team several times this season, but has yet to make his debut. The midfielder, who frequently wears the captain's armband at in the Ajax youth team, attended 19 games for John Heitinga's side this season.
