Kudus also saw three nations ahead of him following the group stage. Despite scoring against South Korea, his adventures in Qatar were over after three matches. Sánchez finished third with Mexico, behind Argentina and Poland.
The Ajax players completed their training session Friday in cold weather. This took the World Cup players some getting used to: from the sunshine in Qatar to the freezing cold in Amsterdam. With the return of these internationals, Alfred Schreuder's squad is becoming ever more complete in the run-up to the start of the second half of the cup in less than one month's time. Only those playing for the Netherlands are still absent, playing in the quarter-finals against Argentina on Friday evening. Edson Álvarez is also joining later, as he is in Mexico due to private reasons. Ajax get back to the cup on 8 January, playing away to NEC.
