Ajax completed their final training session Friday afternoon, in readiness for the home match against sc Heerenveen. The Ajax team will play the current number six in the Eredivisie this Saturday evening, kick-off at 6.45 pm.

This is a busy few weeks for Alfred Schreuder's team. Three days after the glorious UEFA Champions League victory against Rangers FC, sc Heerenveen visit the Johan Cruyff ArenA this Saturday.

Like Ajax, their opponents stand unbeaten in the league and are in sixth place with nine points from five matches. The Ajax team were training at the de Toekomst training ground Friday, in the run-up to the match against the Frisians. Last season Ajax – sc Heerenveen ended in a 5-0 victory, meaning the team from Amsterdam was crowned national champion.

Highlights Ajax - Rangers FC l Amsterdam whirlwind

Ajax started a new European season with a great result on Wednesday evening. Rangers FC were given no breathing space in Amsterdam and were eventually beaten 4-0. At half-time it was 3-0 through goals from Edson Álvarez, Steven Berghuis and Mohammed Kudus. In the second half, Steven Bergwijn made his presence felt once more.
