On the first day of meteorological spring, Ajax put on their tracksuits to get ready for Thursday evening's match. Ajax will face De Graafschap in Doetinchem. A place in the Dutch Cup semifinal is at stake. Our photographer also put on his jacket and took his place at the sidelines of the training field.

Even though temperatures didn't reach double figures, it was nice to be at De Toekomst sports complex. Some players still wore gloves or a scarf, but Ajax's mood matched the weather: sunny.

History shows that the stakes are high for Ajax. No other club in the Netherlands has claimed the Dutch Cup as often as Ajax. The Amsterdam team have hoisted the Dennenappel no less than twenty times. On Thursday, they will have the chance against De Graafschap to take the next step towards a place in the Kuip in Rotterdam on Sunday, 30 April.

The exercises
Under the animated leadership of trainer John Heitinga, Ajax had a good solid training session. After the warm-up, the players started with a game of 'sprint and chase'. This was followed by tactical training, they played three-on-three, and the training ended with finishes on goal.
