In the new role of loan coach, Kreek will focus on coaching loaned Ajax players and contacting the leasing clubs about these players. Kreek (Amsterdam, 1971) already worked as a youth coach at Ajax between 2008 and 2023 and returned to the youth academy as coordinator in 2019. For the last two seasons, Kreek has been assistant coach of Ajax U23, first under John Heitinga and later under current head coach Dave Vos.
Director of Football Sven Mislintat: "This new position is important. If Ajax loan out players it is with an eye on the future. It serves a purpose. With Michel, we now have a permanent contact who follows the players closely from Ajax and stays in touch with both clubs and players."
In addition to his new role, Kreek is focusing on obtaining his UEFA Pro Licence. He will complete the corresponding internship at sc Heerenveen, within the staff of head coach Kees van Wonderen.
