Georges Mikautadze came over in the summer of 2023 from the French club FC Metz. The Lyon-born Georgian signed a contract for five years that keeps him with Ajax until the summer of 2028. The Georgian international wears the number 19 in Amsterdam.

Valkanis: 'This never should have happened'
Ajax lost on Thursday evening 3-2 to USV Hercules. Assistant trainer Michael Valkanis was naturally disenchanted after the match. "This is very disappointing. There's a lot of work to be done, and we need to fix things with the staff. We're going to work on it."
